Sale-a-bration Ends Midnight, March 31

Here's the final "Sale-a-bration Sunday" post, since the promotion ends March 31st. I couldn't resist adding this box with its matching tag to the smorgasbord of projects we'll be making in the free class on April 15! It uses the gorgeous Everyday Elegance Simply Sent cards that are one of the FREE selections in the SAB brochure (or you can purchase them from the big catalog on p. 193). I've had my eye on these little beauties since the catalog came out!

If you haven't placed a qualifying order yet ($50 gets you some of the materials we'll be using so you can replicate at home) and received an invitation to the class, time is running out! And yes, anything in any current catalog goes toward your total - if you're ordering online, even your Clearance Rack items count! -Kathy

Sale-a-bration Sundays: Lisa's Card

Friend and fellow demo Lisa sent along this card featuring Sale-a-bration paper. Can you see the way she's used the postage stamp punch to form a decorative quilt-like strip before running it through the Big Shot with the edgelit die? Even though Island Indigo isn't actually in the paper palette, it does a wonderful job of enhancing the colors of the patterned paper. Way to go, Lisa! -Kathy

Sale-a-bration Sundays: Hat Box

This is my very favorite of the Sale-a-bration projects I've made this year (thank you, Patty Bennett, for the inspiration) so I'm showing it off to you on my birthday! I just grin each time I catch sight of it. Did you note the hat pin? Right where it ought to be, on a hat!

The crown of this little beauty is one of the containers that our brads and buttons come in (if you don't have any empties, you can get them for about 65 cents each on p. 226 of the Idea Book & Catalog). What a perfect place to stash some candies, or to nestle a necklace or some earrings on a bed of cotton as a birthday or Mother's Day gift.

What's that you say? Oh. Yes, OF COURSE we will be making this one in class! Don't miss it. -Kathy

Stamp Club Olathe - January 2012

We covered so much ground in both clubs this month! For these gals, I designed a card that featured one of the new edgelits dies and coordinating embossing folders, and we threw in a little two-tone stamping technique plus a few accent lines on the Stampin' Score! They echo the embossed lines from the folder nicely. I think this scheme of Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder is a nice alternative to the usual Valentine combo, don't you? The floral image is from a Sale-a-bration stamp set called Fresh Vintage, and you'll find the sentiment in Delightful Dozen.

But wait, there's more! In the next post I'll show you how we took this single element and used it on a scrap book page... -Kathy

Good Morning,
I created this card for a shoebox swap for the April meeting with my 'Cool 'n the Gang' girls. Quick, easy and cute! Hope you like it.
Also, time is quickly running out (April 30th) for the spring Occasion Mini Catalog so if you haven't placed an order, now's the time! Just give me a hollar, I'd be happy to help.
Have a great weekend!
M.

SAB 2010 Class Project Peek

I thought I'd post a couple of the projects we made in the class I taught for those who took advantage of Sale-a-bration this year. It was so nice to be able to earn one of the new style punches for free, as well as having the option to acquire sets from the big catalog like Forest Friends and Birthday Bliss.

I'm always looking for new ways to use ribbon and to ease the pain for those of you who say "I can't tie a bow no matter how hard I try!" The bow on the Birthday Bliss card is made using staples. Sneaky trick #605... Kathy

All supplies Stampin' Up, of course! (except for the button from grandma's button box)
