Welcome Baby

I created this card for my cousin who just had a baby girl. I got the idea from one I saw online by Kathleen Hopperstad and just changed it up for a baby. I don't think I'll ever get tired of pink and brown together, one of my favorite color combos! Hope you like.
Thanks for stopping by!

Jordan's 8th Birthday

Well it was a girl's night out and then sleep over for my niece Jordan's 8th birthday. First, we started the evening with a manicure where Miss Janie at Shear Perfection pampered her sweet little fingers and then painted them "Bet it all on OPI Orange". Then dodging thunderstorms, we headed on to El Mezcal for some delicious nachos, (mmm, mmm good) followed by a quick stop at the video store, then onto the important stuff... dessert! It was still raining but really, what's a little rain when Sylas and Maddy's ice cream is calling! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! :) Next we headed home, hopped in our jammies and settled in for our chick flick.

Saturday morning came bright and early as Jordan's eyes popped open waaaay to soon for her Aunt. So after milking the fake sleep for a half an hour, we rolled out of bed at 6:59 (but who's keeping track). We enjoyed some piping hot cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven, (and a couple of strong cups of coffee), washed our hands then headed to the craft table where we made some bugs! After playing with our bugs we were ready for the second chick flick, and as Jordan put it... "do we dare have another cinnamon roll?" OF COURSE, it's your birthday! I replied. Plates and milk in hand, back to the couch we go. All in all I'd say the Birthday was a success!

Thanks Jordan for a fun sleep over, I hope you had a great time!

Monique

Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade are two of the new in-colors for this year, here teamed with a strip of Newsprint DSP (you gotta love that stuff, it goes with everything!). The Poppy is such a strong color that I've used it sparingly so as not to compete with the sentiment. This is a quick layout that relies on the "Rule of Thirds" for balance and interest, making it a ten-minute card!

Try something similar with the paper and stamps in your stash, and let me know how it goes.

The Prodigal Returns

Hello again, friends!

My daughter Ginny and I headed off to Britain for about 3 weeks in July/August, and it's taken me awhile to pick up the threads of daily life once again. Above you see a vista from northern Wales near the area which is thought to be King Arthur's Camelot (Snowdonia in the region of Gwynned). I could show you so many similarly beautiful shots, but I know you visit here for paper crafting ideas so I'll get on that right away!

Thanks for your patience and for checking back, Kathy
